102.3 NOW! (CKNO-FM) has had a great 2014 and finishes the year in the top spot in Edmonton. The CBC (CBX) made it to #2 while 630 CHED slipped back to #3 even though it grew audience.
96.3 Capital FM (CKRA-FM) had a huge book and made it into the 4th slot with an 8.1 which is tied with CISN-FM. Next in line was the other country station on the AM band, CFCW who end the year at #6.
Rock is a format that is in trouble and that was evident in Edmonton as a number of stations lost audience share including Newcap’s K-Rock (CIRK-FM), Rawlco’s Up! 99.3 (CIUP-FM) and the Rogers Modern Rocker, Sonic (CHDI-FM). But the biggest loser was The Bear (CFBR-FM) who dropped to a 3.9 share and slipped to the 13th spot in Edmonton. Look for some big changes in this market in 2015.
