Rogers Media President to Retire

TORONTO, May 4 /CNW/ – Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI) today announced thatTony Viner, 63, President and CEO of Rogers Media, would be retiring from Rogers.

Tony Viner joined Rogers in 1982 and has grown Rogers Media from three radio stations when he started, to a diversified media company today comprised of radio, over-the-air and specialty television services, publishing, digital media, and sports entertainment.

“Tony has been a key part of our management team and has delivered solid results,” said Nadir Mohamed, President and CEO of Rogers Communications. “Our media division has dramatically expanded and thrived under his leadership so that today Rogers Media has many of the country’s premier media brands.”

Tony Viner will stay with the company until a successor is named to ensure an orderly and seamless transition.
