Morning News Co-Host/Reporter – Bell Media Radio Brockville, ON

We’re looking for our next morning co-host for our market leading AC station 1049 JRfm who is interested in contributing in a fast paced newsroom environment.  Must have a passion for local news, and must enjoy getting out and networking in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The successful candidate will co-host and present the news during the morning show on 1049 JRfm, filling in as required on other news shifts.
  • The candidate will be responsible for generating news stories for the radio station, including news gathering, news writing, interviewing news makers and creating and maintaining community and news contacts while adhering to all station, company and CRTC rules and regulations
  • The candidate will be required to go on location to report from local events, council meeting, etc. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-year Broadcast Journalism Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two years related experience.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.  Self-motivated.  Able to take direction.  Able to work to deadlines and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Very community minded
  • Valid ‘G’ driver’s license (Ontario) required.
  • Excellent computer skills a must, experience with “Newsroom” an asset.
  • Previous experience as an NC or ND (part-time, fill in, acting ND) an asset.
