Montreal’s 92.5 The Beat, a subsidiary of Cogeco Diffusion Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Part Time (Maternity Leave) Traffic Reporter position for The Beat’s Drive Show.  Reporting to the Program Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The traffic reporter gathers information on the traffic situations in and around the metropolitan area and keeps listeners informed on a regular basis.
  • The traffic reporter may be required to update sections of the radio station website during the course of his/her shift and forwarding information to listeners through an email marketing campaign or other Internet related Medias
  • Interaction with listeners. He/she will receive calls from listeners and will have access to electronic information from Transport Quebec or any other source of information related to traffic
  • He/she gathers information on the traffic situations in and around the metropolitan area and keeps listeners informed on a regular basis
  • Candidate will participate in station marketing and promotional campaigns and activities as well as be available for station and sales remotes and other station functions. He/she will also be available for doing voice work for commercial and promo production, as needed.

 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of pop cultural, music and current events (international and local) as they relate to station’s A25-54 year old audience.
  • Perform commercial narration and production, as required.
  • Ability to handle stress well and process information quickly
  • Minimum 3 years on-air Announcer experience working for a major market radio or television station.
  • Excellent on-air skills, as determined by the Program Director.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingualism is an asset but not required.
  • Capable of executing the expected show concept.
  • Organized/Solid work ethic with positive references.
  • A positive, friendly manner and customer service
  • A winning attitude and team player
  • Knowledge of Montreal Road Network
